Devotion

The feet in this image come from a famous forty foot high Buddhist statue at Dambulla, Sri Lanka. The people in the foreground, including the Swami on the left were photographed at Benaras on the banks of the Ganges watching the sunrise. Feet in India are a particularly holy symbol because they represent the 'understanding.' The understanding or self knowledge of a buddha is "I am limitless Consciousness." This understanding is called liberation.
