Dear Ram
Thank you for sending me inspiring
satsangs. They are well received and appreciated.
Life goes smoothly these days. In January and February and since Easter I have
lots of free time and enjoy the wonderful spring. Reading Nisargadatta and studying Dayanada’s
Gita course. Wonderful.
Until recently, as you know, my
favorite phrases were: I am whole and complete actionless awareness, choiceless, limitless... Since a few weeks this has changed
to: I am beyond being an not being, beyond happiness
and suffering... Whenever something arises which irritates me for a moment this
line of thought comes up: I am beyond (whatever is the point)... beyond
effective and not effective, beyond reliable and not reliable, beyond wise and
stupid, beyond inspiration and no inspiration...
This has a tremendously releasing
effect. Sometimes it is very gentle and just sweet. And the confidence and trust in that
which is beyond my thinking mind and which is me on a
deep level is ever increasing.
I take the dust of your lotus
feet. You have done a pretty good
job in lifting the lid and dispelling the blindness. Nisargadatta
is doing his job too, even 24 years after his death. Well spoken words.
No questions so far. Just ripening
like a mango in the sun. No matter
how long it takes,
I‘m done.
Thank you so much
Marian
Dear Marian,
I’m sorry I’m rather
slow replying to your last e-mail. I
have not forgotten you. I think of
you often and I am not surprised that things are going along smoothly. Your statement “Whenever something
arises which irritates me for a moment this line of thought comes up”
shows that the knowledge is working effortlessly on its own. Had you said something like, “I
remember that I am beyond everything, etc.’ it would indicate a doer, a
volitional state, one that requires maintenance. But ‘line of thought comes
up’ means that there is no doer, that you are free of sadhanas.
Marian: “This has a
tremendously releasing effect. Sometimes it is very gentle and just sweet. And
the confidence and trust in that which is beyond my thinking mind and which is me on a deep level is ever increasing.”
Ram: Peace and self confidence is the fruit
of self realization. There can no
longer be anxiety about what is happening, has happened or is going to
happen. It does not make any
difference to you, the ‘me on a deep level.’ There are no longer any levels. You can say, “There is only me. I am
the sun, the moon and the stars. I
am the body and mind. I am everything that is.” It is confidence in this understanding
that lets Christ say, “I and my father are one” and go peacefully
to his physical death.
Marian: I take the dust of your lotus feet. You
have done a pretty good job in lifting the lid and dispelling the blindness. Nisargadatta is doing his job too, even 24 years after his
death. Well spoken words. Thank you so much.
Ram: It is my pleasure, Marian. I am happy to have done my part. You worked hard at this with great
sincerity for a long time and it is only fitting that your journey should end
in freedom.
Marian: No questions so far. Just
ripening like a mango in the sun. No matter how long it takes, I am done.
Ram: I don’t think there will be any
questions. If a question arises it
will be effortlessly neutralized by the knowledge. The mango ripens on its own. It falls
off the tree when it is ready. No individual is involved in the process. You are ‘done.’ But then you were always
‘done,’ you just didn’t know it until now. Nonetheless I’m glad that you are
reading Dayananda and Nisargadatta. It is not actually necessary but it is
useful in so far as it further cements the knowledge.
Anyway, as for little Ram things are
just fine. My work here in
Love,
Ram
