Shankara's Nirvana Shatkam/Atma Shatkam (Song of the Self)

Postby Mira » Fri Sep 25, 2015 6:34 pm

I did not know where exactly to put this post. Then I thought it might help with meditation on the self so I put it in this section.

I want to share a beautiful rendition of Shankaracharya's Nirvana Shatkam. There is an English translation of the verses and the singing and music are very well done.

Please feel free to add your favorite Vedanta devotional songs/videos etc..

Nice of you to post this beatuful mantra. Funny to mention that I came across this not long time ago myself. Very inspiring! I also found a pdf version of the text (with translation) https://www.cse.iitb.ac.in/~siva/nirvana.pdf

I prefer this tunes. It's a matter of taste only. But I'm a fan of good taste.

:D

http://www.ramakantmaharaj.net/bhajans.php

Once I downloaded, by recording the tunes via a tape-recorder, the tunes that were sung by students of Sri Siddharameshvara Maharaj in the temple of Sri Ranjit Maharaj. But now I can't find that web-site any longer. Therefore I unfortunatelyl can't post the tunes sung by them.

Anyway...

They are the best "Nirvana Shatkam/Atma Shatkam" tunes I came across.
