Total Commitment, the Way to Go
Seeker: Dear James and Sundari, I had an email from an old friend from the Andrew Cohen days who I told about Vedanta last year and I recently asked him how it was going. This is his amazing reply. I’m sure you get these testimonials often, but you will probably meet him soon, as he is planning to come to the February retreat in Connecticut. Through James, Isvara has lit a fire that is turning into a mighty blaze of awakening and awareness!! It brings so much joy to learn of old friends who are also finding a way to live in freedom.
“So, yes, I am very much still committed and one-pointed… and passionate(!!)… about my Vedanta study/practice. I’m typically up at 4:30, sitting cross-legged in my comfy clothes in my office/practice room, sipping coffee and either reading/studying/contemplating, and lately watching videos. I do one-and-a-half or two hours every morning if possible. I’ve been very immersed and focused on James’ The Essence of Enlightenment… for some reason drawn to study it intently over and over. I’ve been following unseen forces in staying with this, and then just this week started spending my morning time watching the video series on Self-Inquiry from Santa Fe 2015. It was just the right moment to start this. I also starting to pull down articles and satsangs to read and contemplate. The teachings are with me throughout my days – I find the practices of karma yoga and dharma yoga, the three gunas, jnana yoga and meditation all work together beautifully to support coming to a deeper and deeper understanding and assimilation of the teachings. And happily, Andrea and I are going to James’ retreat in Connecticut at the end of February. Really looking forward to meeting him and having a weekend of immersion in Vedanta with James and others.”
