Isvara In All Forms
Arjuna: Regardless of the outcome of actions… “it’s okay.” I have really been studying that Narada Bhakti Sutras/Vedanta PDF you sent. I got it printed up at Kinko’s, have been reading it and marking it with a highlighter.
From that reading I came up with this slogan:
“Work = worship.
“All acts are gifts to Isvara.
“All results are gifts from Isvara.”
I love the seeing of Isvara in all forms. The complexity and detail of creation = gratitude and wonder. And then that all forms are the Self: (see this link).
I had a quandary though. I have always said that results come from Isvara. But I am Isvara. Results must come from/through me?? I think the main question is a matter of control and viewing myself as a jiva or of the larger presence of the Self.
I hope you are well.
~ Your friend, Arjuna
Isvara is not real, you are.
Isvara only appears in you, just like the jiva.
“I am pure awareness, that from which all things arise and that into which all things resolve.
“I have no name or form, yet appear as all names and forms.
“As this jiva I am a bhakta, wonderstruck that I truly have no attributes yet appear as this jiva, this creation, and the connection between them.
“As this jiva I bow down before Isvara’s grace, that which makes all objects appear and reflect my glory.”
Arjuna: Thanks. Lovely words. Very helpful, as always.
