A Tough Nut to Crack
Vedanta student: Just wanted to share some nice thought.
If you doubt that you are the self, that doubt is not real, because the doubter is a waker and as such only a projection of the self.
I understand why you say the knowledge is present 24/7. Why? Because I am present 24/7. Discrimination is a funny thing, because who is doing it? The self cannot, because it is not doing anything. The jiva is not real, so it does not know anything. Conclusion: reality (I) is as it is. There is only me plus three bodies.
Looking for the self in maya is a tiring pursuit. Nothing in the world is real, simply because I know it!
Happiness is innate, the nature of the self (which cannot be found in maya).
Keeping the mind on brahman sure is nice, but one needs to understand jiva and Isvara as well – how they function, what they can and cannot produce.
I hate that the knowledge flips on and off, all that while flipping only occurs in maya.
It is a tough nut to crack because we are so conditioned to think as jivas.
But when I again “get it,” the mind gets very peaceful.
