Mary: Hello, Ramji.
Life, in all its benevolence (Isvara), has stripped most distraction out. I am living quietly. I would say that I am in “observer mode” much of the time now. I am not susceptible to loneliness… I experience contentedness and peace much of the time, but need to deal with what seems to be the main vasana of nervousness about running out of money. Even as I write that to you, I am flooded with warmheartedness and a reminder that it does not bother me when I am just doing each day as it is. Not even the end of this physical life has the impact it once did… Running out of money is obviously connected to the preserving the life of the physical body… yes?
James: Hi, Mary.
Lovely to hear from you. I’m glad things are going well. The money issue is a security issue. The jiva needs security in this world, no doubt. As long as you are doing what you reasonably can, the rest is up to Isvara. So you deal with the rest by giving up the anxiety to Isvara. You have been looked after so far, why should things change? And one day you will have to give up the body anyway, so it is always good to give it up now. At the same time, it is always good to inquire into Mary’s requirements for security and look for ways to live more and more simply. But the true security is knowing that you are whole and complete, that you don't change and that the changes Mary takes to be real are only apparent changes. It sounds like your inquiry is working pretty well. Keep at it. Read the website, watch the videos, my new book is coming out soon, etc. Just keep plugging away and count your blessings. You are quite fine both as a jiva and as awareness.
~ Much love, James
