It Is the Spirit That Counts
Philip: Hi, Sundari, I am still captivated by James’ book and the material at the website. Discovering James’ presentation of Vedanta is like discovering a gold mine. The amount of information available is almost overwhelming.
I have just ordered the Vedanta Full Set, so when that arrives I shall carefully work through that in conjunction with the book.
Sundari: We are so happy to hear that you have found the gold mine! Of course, the point of the gold mine is to reveal to you that you are the gold!
Thank you for your appreciation, we much appreciate it.
Philip: Sundari, is it okay for me to recite the chant James gives at the start of his talks, and also is there a closing prayer or dedication?
Sundari: Yes, it is perfectly fine and the chant can be used for opening and closing.
Philip: Also, I was wondering if there are certain words to think when consecrating one’s actions when practising karma yoga?
Sundari: You can choose any words that work for you. The important thing is the spirit in which they are said, which is the spirit of renunciation and gratitude. You could say: “I accept whatever happens as a result of this action and dedicate my thoughts, words and actions in gratitude to the Field (Isvara) for taking care of all my needs.”
Philip: I take this opportunity to thank you for your time and help given, and I send my gratitude to you and James.
~ Kind wishes, Philip
Sundari: You are so welcome, Philip, may your life continue to unfold in the Light of self-knowledge.
~ Much love from Ram and me, Sundari
