How Cool Is This!
Carlos: I was on the trail for a while, but not nearly as long as others. I had many, many spiritual experiences, so convincing. Surely this must be enlightenment… then the letdown. Yes, admittedly I was one of those experience-chasers. Lately these non-dual experiences increased to two or three a week. It was so frustrating to have the rug constantly pulled out from me. I’ve never had a teacher, just followed various things on the Web and puzzled it out alone.
Then I stumbled on your site. I believe it was a link from Stillness Speaks. I also read your insightful article in Non-Duality Magazine. I figured, let me give this Advaita stuff a chance. Nothing else is sticking, so I bought the book. By the time I got to page 119 the shift happened. I figured, yeah, sure, seen this before. But this time it was different. It was no longer a beauty to behold, it was me. Then it was just like you said, the ego, the vasanas, the barking dog, everything was dependent on me, but I was and still am independent of it all. I feel like a free, wide open space. The weight of carrying the maya everywhere has been lifted.
Thanks, so much, Ram. Advaita is exactly what the doctor ordered. It is perfect for the very ripe.
