Surrender Is Not the Answer
Mat: Of course I worry that things will not get better and my energy will not return, but that is just more fear. Trying not to care about it and fully accept is so hard. In the end it comes down to complete surrender, trust and love of God. In recent times I have had so many signs from God, at least there is never any question or doubt about Truth.
James: Trying not to care is again the problem. If you care, you care. Notice it. If you don’t care, you don’t care. Notice it. See the identification with the doer, the one who tries. Mat cannot not care. That is his nature. How is Mat known?
It is not a matter of surrender, Mat. Mat surrenders, now who is going to surrender Mat? Your idea leaves Mat as he is. Mat does not have a surrender problem. Mat is the problem. If surrender is something you do, you will have to keep doing it forever. If you could surrender forever – which you can’t – you would end up with a case of chronic fatigue to beat all cases. What an effort! And if it was a case of surrender, you would do it. Go ahead, do it now. But surrender is not a doing. Surrender is the effect of knowing. Knowing what? That you are whole and complete. More contemplation is required. See how the rajas is formulating the solution? It wants another action, more doing. It wants “surrender.”
God has sent all kinds of signs, Mat. How many more does It have to send?
Truth is you. It is not something other than you. If that is true, why is there a doubt? The doubt is whether or not you are Mat. Are you? See the orientation. You here, God/Truth there. Is this true?
~ Love, James
