On the microcosmic level, jivas operate based on vasanas/ignorance. The collection of trillions and trillions of vasanas form macrocosmic avidya or Maya. Maya or Isvara 2 is seemingly real, because when the ignorance is revealed to be just that, unreal (location of objects teaching can take care of that), what is “left” is consciousness, awareness. When we pray to God, we are praying to this field of intelligent ignorance, which by design is set up only to “free itself,” “undo itself” (which, in reality, it does with no doing)? If this is so, how magnificent. I can see why they call it a dream.
