Self inquiry is Amazing!

Dear James,

Self inquiry is amazing! I can’t help but feel like a child during that first bike ride without training wheels: the surprise and elation at the realization that balance is achievable.  It is as if each egotistic, akin to the brief wobble of the handle bars, threatens to crash my discrimination. My interactions with others are spontaneous and my words carry power.  I am unforgiving of the little voice who wants to do victory dances as if he was the one who gave us this power. As if he wasn’t the same jerk that that made me constantly grovel for attention and recognition.  I dispise that little troll who cares only for himself and his petty  pleasures.

Now it is time for the ego to serve.  He has been a poor master.  He will be happier when he learns his place. Yes, this is a big moment indeed. There is truth and chastisement but there is also love. There is sincerity and redemption. To repent is to admit that enlightenment is nothing more than an admission of prior ignorance. It is no longer a question of whether to prostrate or not.  Does one deserve to prostrate?  Does he or she truly know the one to which they submit in their heart?

With Love and eternal gratitude.

Jason
