The Weft and Weave of the Field

Mick: I see that what takes itself as the I is nothing more than a collection of physical and subtle patterns and behaviours arising from the dharma field, and constantly changes along with the weave and weft of the field itself, only appearing to be a continual entity by the illusion of memory… itself only a changeable thought in the moment.

The real I stands eternally separate from all such modifications, ever the unchanging witness, neither doing nor enjoying but merely the principle in which all doings and enjoying occur.

Gradually the “episodes” of forgetting this knowledge are becoming shorter in duration, less intense in their effect, and the intervals between them are shorter.

It doesn’t seem like I will ever be free of me though… not in this spin on the merry-go-round. There are too many binding desires that are dug in like ticks and lock me into doership when they arise, but who knows, eh?

Thanks again for your patience and love.

Sundari: Ah, beautifully put, Mick! And accurate too.

If you know you are not free of the Mick-person, are you really bound? Apply the karma yoga magic to those ticks and see them let go. They must, eventually. No match for self-knowledge. Just trust it to do the work for you, the ego is not going to free the ego.

You are doing just great. I love that beautiful, funny Mick guy like crazy! He is you too, even if you are not him.
