Student: Dear James, in keeping with the tradition I’m just checking it to let you know that I’m still very much on-track! I recently started to go again through your Bhagavad Gita teaching, this time Tiruvannamalai, 2012. I enjoy it so much, and it’s stunning how, layer by layer, it goes deeper and deeper, closer and closer to the truth that I am. I’m very, very grateful and happy!
After the first year of listening (shravana) and reflecting (manana) – 2014 was my Vedanta start – I thought I got it but I didn’t. Layer by layer it goes deeper, and my former worry, if I ever would reach my goal, vanishes and dissolves more and more into faith and peace. The sun which seems far away is never is not here!
The teaching has such an impact on my whole life. My practice work as a homeopath and psychotherapist benefits tremendously from the sattvic clarity arising from understanding. Karma yoga is a safe and fast vehicle! My God, it’s so cool and simple! Teaching the basic principles of karma yoga in my practice is fun and very effective. It’s amazing how many people get it and are impressed by the simplicity of its logic.
At the end of the day I think there is no difference anyway between karma yoga, jnana yoga and bhakti yoga. It all merges into one. I can already see that/how this happens! It’s all a logical miracle!
